Dry Van & LTL Shipments
Dry Van & Flatbed shipments involve full truckloads of packaged goods shipped OTR, whether using drums or totes of liquid product or dry product strapped to pallets. An average 53-foot dry fan or flatbed shipment can accommodate 40,000 to 45,000 pounds gross weight and may or may not require Hazmat certifications and tank endorsements contingent on the shipped product. In addition to standard dry van shipments, TLC can arrange reefer (refrigerated) temperature-controlled shipments, international shipments, as well as blind/double-blind options.
Often the most tedious of all logistics formats, LTL (Less than Truckload) shipments involve smaller shipments of goods when a full dry van is not required. Standard LTL shipments range from 1-4 pallets, while “volume” LTL shipments are typically 5-10 pallets. Sometimes, based on the volume, product, or distance, larger LTL cargo may still ship as a dedicated truckload, even if the truck is not full.
Hot Shot
Hot shot trucking is the transport of small, time-sensitive LTL loads (less than truckload) within a specific time frame, usually to a single customer or location. Hot shot loads are typically delivered by medium-duty trucks pulling flatbed trailers. And if those loads are under 10,000 lbs, drivers don’t need a CDL to deliver them. Hot shot trucking differs from expedited shipping, which usually involves a motor carrier keeping vans, tractor-trailers, or even pickup trucks on standby to get the job done. This makes hot shot trucking a great opportunity for owner-operators looking for their next load or to make some extra money on the side.

Freight Dispatch
Freight dispatchers play a critical role in the transportation industry by coordinating the movement of goods and materials from one location to another. These professionals use their knowledge of logistics, transportation regulations, and communication skills to ensure that shipments are delivered efficiently and on time.
